Long-time followers know I don't generally voice personal problems on my dA account, instead focusing on my work and Daemoneye Publishing. However, sometimes the two intersect.
The last two weeks have been, well, shitty. The greatest irritation has been my PC. I picked it up a little over a year ago and it's already experiencing stability issues. This isn't some cheap prefab from Office Max or BestBuy, mind. I spent considerable time and money building this system and upgrading it and up until a couple of weeks ago it worked like a charm. Now it seems prone to BSODs whenever I do anything as taxing as, say, running YouTube or playing a game (and I built it with gaming in mind!) I'm half-expecting it to crash as I type this post. I would recover from an earlier saved system image but apparently the external hard drive I've been using as a backup wasn't properly formatted for this purpose. I'm not ready to reinstall the whole damn thing from a system disc but I'm seriously considering it; the only thing holding me back is the possibility the hardware's to blame. And since this is an old fashioned tower desktop and I don't have a car it's a bit challenging, logistically speaking, to get the thing to a technician. I honestly don't know what to do at this point.
This, coupled with a number of other headaches I won't go into, has left me too stressed and anxious to work on any of my projects. I wound up taking a sabbatical after all. Only it was anything but relaxing.
Don't have much else to add. There needs to be a change, that much is certain. I'm not happy with my current situation. I can't promise much new material for the indefinite future. I thank those who purchased the book and/or contributed to the projects; your support is always appreciated.
Edit: I attempted a clean reinstall of my system and now it's even worse. Can't update windows, still getting BSOD, my computer is basically dead. I saved my files, of course, but this is a real kick in the stomach for me. Only thing left to do is try to get it to an expert and see what they can salvage. I don't know how much more of this I can take...

Searching for a new Webcomic Artist and/or guests
The Lycanthrope Club Webcomic is looking for a new artist and/or guest artists. The previous artist, Abby Cao, no longer has the time to draw the comic so we're looking for an artist to take over and/or guest artists for some filler pages. The Lycanthrope Club Webcomic is based on the novella, series of short stories and fictional universe of the same name. The comic has been going for around four years with a monthly update schedule. It chronicles the emergence of a relatively benign form of lycanthropy (werewolves) in a small town and what follows. The comic does feature violence, blood, some naughty language, nudity, etc. - call it a hard PG-13 to soft R. Becoming the artist of the Lycanthrope Club is a long term commitment. We are looking for someone who can reliably illustrate a full, multi-panel black and white (inked) page once per month, possibly twice per month if the Patreon picks up following a provided script. You will be paid per page and receive a share of the
Apologies for the Lack of Updates...
...But it turns out if you write too much werewolf fiction, well, see for yourself. It should wear off by the end of Halloween... In all seriousness, I'm back to writing. I plan on getting the last chapter of A Mythical Match Up - A Jubilant Jinn up within a week or so. It should be followed by a new Mythical Match Up story or continuation of an existing story in the MM universe, possibly a new Patreon Exclusive Lycanthrope Club story and possibly an entirely new story. In addition, for anyone in the greater Sacramento area, I will be attending ConQuest Sacramento November 11th through November 13th. Look for the Daemoneye Publishing booth. I will be there mostly representing the Tabletop RPG side of Daemoneye, but will be happy to talk about the novellas if anyone asks. Happy Halloween!
End of 2021 Status Update (story requests closed)
Update: I have compiled all of the story requests and will start working on them soon. If I decide to use your story idea I will contact you and let you know. 2021 is almost over. All in all, I think it was a better year than 2020, though the bar wasn't particularly high in that regard. In any event, it's time for another end-of-year retrospective/prospective. You've probably noticed a dearth of activity on my dA page and the Patreon over the last four months. The simple explanation is that I was teaching five separate classes for four different colleges. My day job is very much feast or famine so you take what you get. However, I won't say my work left me with no free time or energy because it didn't; I should have gotten more done. As for why I didn't, well, I think it was a combination of factors. First, there was the isolating effect of the pandemic. I am an admitted introvert - bordering on shut-in - but I did have hobbies that involved leaving my home prior to COVID. Beyond
Update 08/23/2021
Apologies for the long delay between updates (to both my dA page and the webcomic)! Abby Cao (the artist) and I were busy and/or delayed owing to the start of the new semester, health issues and other dreary stuff. I just posted a new entry in the Mythical Match Up universe and a new character profile of the protagonist from The Lycanthrope Club Webcomic, Tiffany Melody, in her werewolf form! With any luck a new page of the webcomic will follow shortly. Still cooking up some new things. Keep your eye on the page. -Heliotroph
