10-31-17 UPDATE
Happy Halloween Everyone!
Rest assured I am still alive - just dealing with some of my patent pending personal/professional issues. Hoping to pivot back to something resembling my usual routine soon.

10-15-17 UPDATE
Had bit of a family emergency. My parents needed me to house-sit/dog-sit for a week and a half and between driving back and forth between my jobs (yes, plural) I just didn't have the time nor energy to get any writing done. Hopefully I'll get back on track this week or thereabouts.
Oh, fun fact, while looking for a new roommate I almost got taken by a rental scammer Didn't even know this sort of thing existed. One more stressor for an already trying week...
----------
Here's a brief synopsis of what I will be working on for the foreseeable future.
The next chapter of Old Wounds is coming along; I'm considering writing an afterword once it's finished as I have mixed feelings about the novella. I will also be writing laztrohyer's requested story soon. Once these projects are out of the way I'm going to focus my efforts on The Lycanthrope Club: Book III and little else. There is one story idea I'd like to explore and may work on it when I need a break, but otherwise there won't be a lot of new fiction posted here once I dig into book III.
The story idea...well, this is giving a bit away, but a) it's another story set in the Lycanthrope Club universe and b) I'm going to need collaborator to write it. Not a co-author as much as a consultant. See, I need someone well-acquainted with modern Japanese society - preferably someone who has actually lived in Japan for a couple of years. While I don't consider myself ignorant of Japanese customs, norms, culture, etc. I want to be respectful and accurately depict the country and its people*; reading some Wikipedia entries and re-watching a couple anime series won't cut it. So if you are or know someone who fits the bill and would be willing to be a (unpaid) consultant, please contact me.
*Or at least get the facts straight!

Searching for a new Webcomic Artist and/or guests
The Lycanthrope Club Webcomic is looking for a new artist and/or guest artists. The previous artist, Abby Cao, no longer has the time to draw the comic so we're looking for an artist to take over and/or guest artists for some filler pages. The Lycanthrope Club Webcomic is based on the novella, series of short stories and fictional universe of the same name. The comic has been going for around four years with a monthly update schedule. It chronicles the emergence of a relatively benign form of lycanthropy (werewolves) in a small town and what follows. The comic does feature violence, blood, some naughty language, nudity, etc. - call it a hard PG-13 to soft R. Becoming the artist of the Lycanthrope Club is a long term commitment. We are looking for someone who can reliably illustrate a full, multi-panel black and white (inked) page once per month, possibly twice per month if the Patreon picks up following a provided script. You will be paid per page and receive a share of the
Apologies for the Lack of Updates...
...But it turns out if you write too much werewolf fiction, well, see for yourself. It should wear off by the end of Halloween... In all seriousness, I'm back to writing. I plan on getting the last chapter of A Mythical Match Up - A Jubilant Jinn up within a week or so. It should be followed by a new Mythical Match Up story or continuation of an existing story in the MM universe, possibly a new Patreon Exclusive Lycanthrope Club story and possibly an entirely new story. In addition, for anyone in the greater Sacramento area, I will be attending ConQuest Sacramento November 11th through November 13th. Look for the Daemoneye Publishing booth. I will be there mostly representing the Tabletop RPG side of Daemoneye, but will be happy to talk about the novellas if anyone asks. Happy Halloween!
End of 2021 Status Update (story requests closed)
Update: I have compiled all of the story requests and will start working on them soon. If I decide to use your story idea I will contact you and let you know. 2021 is almost over. All in all, I think it was a better year than 2020, though the bar wasn't particularly high in that regard. In any event, it's time for another end-of-year retrospective/prospective. You've probably noticed a dearth of activity on my dA page and the Patreon over the last four months. The simple explanation is that I was teaching five separate classes for four different colleges. My day job is very much feast or famine so you take what you get. However, I won't say my work left me with no free time or energy because it didn't; I should have gotten more done. As for why I didn't, well, I think it was a combination of factors. First, there was the isolating effect of the pandemic. I am an admitted introvert - bordering on shut-in - but I did have hobbies that involved leaving my home prior to COVID. Beyond
Update 08/23/2021
Apologies for the long delay between updates (to both my dA page and the webcomic)! Abby Cao (the artist) and I were busy and/or delayed owing to the start of the new semester, health issues and other dreary stuff. I just posted a new entry in the Mythical Match Up universe and a new character profile of the protagonist from The Lycanthrope Club Webcomic, Tiffany Melody, in her werewolf form! With any luck a new page of the webcomic will follow shortly. Still cooking up some new things. Keep your eye on the page. -Heliotroph
